Welcome

This is the communications hub for Democrats of the Kennebunks & Arundel (DKA) and all of you -- Democrats or unenrolled -- who are concerned about the well-being of our country and want to get involved. A democratic society relies upon the decisions of its electorate. DKA dedicates itself to helping Kennebunk, Kennebunkport, and Arundel citizens become fully aware of the political choices they face and to make the most educated decisions possible. As we come together to speak out and rise up, we find strength in numbers, support through experience, passion for the issues, and a vision for the work at hand and the work ahead.

Join us, work with us, WIN with us!

INTRODUCING THE DEMOCRACY COOPERATIVE

The DKA has a new home: The Democracy Cooperative (or Co-op) at 2 Storer Street/Unit #111 (in the Lafayette Center) in Kennebunk.

In addition to serving as DKA office space—with its focus on local and state politics—the Co-op is also a hub for outreach, engagement, and activism for anyone in the local community or around York County who needs a safe place to gather. The space is already being used by our local state legislators, community conversation groups, focus groups, book clubs, York County Democratic municipal leaders, and others.

“The Democracy Co-op offers a workplace where we can direct the energy of local citizens that has been building this year toward activities that protect the values and freedoms Democrats and others hold dear in our country,” said DKA Chair Penny Gruen.

Be sure to sign up for our newsletter with the link posted above to stay informed of all DKA activities and Democracy Cooperative events.

The Co-op is open currently on Wednesdays and Fridays from 12 PM to 4 PM. Office Managers are Dean Thomas and Steve Sawyer. Drop by to meet them and check out what’s happening. To reserve space or volunteer for DKA activities call (207) 569-0001.
